Join Geologist, Jon Kim, for a three stop field trip that looks at the geology of Lamoille County. We will drive to each location so walking will be mininmal. The field trip will last approximately two hours.

 

First stop: Morrisville Power and Light dam on Feline Loop to look at the bedrockf formation underlying the town (Ottauquechee Formation)

 

Second stop: A gravel pit in Morriville or Hyde Park to see glacial deposits. You may have heard Stephen Wright talk about this if you went to his geology presentation.

 

Third stop: The Morrisville town field on Rte 15A, next to the bike path, to talk about the source of the groundwater.
